“AVIVAC-SALMOVAC E+T”

About the product

«AVIVAC-SALMOVAC E+T» is an inactivated emulsified vaccine against avian salmonellosis.
The vaccine contains membrane antigens of virulent strains of S. enteritidis C-5-AT and S. typhimurium mixed with oil-based adjuvant. The vaccine has the appearance of a homogeneous white or pinkish white water-in-oil emulsion. The vaccine is available in 20 to 500 cm3 glass or plastic vials containing 40 to 1000 doses of the product.

Biological properties

Immunity to avian salmonellosis develops 14 to 28 days after double immunization and lasts 6 months. The vaccine confers protection to the offspring of the immunized birds from salmonellosis caused by S. enteridis C-5-AT, S. infantis and S. typhimurium during the first 14 days after hatching as a result of transovarial transmission of maternal antibodies. The vaccine is innocuous and non-reactogenic; it possesses no therapeutic properties.

Indications for use

Only clinically healthy birds can undergo vaccination.

Replacement chicks are vaccinated against salmonellosis in order to protect their offspring via transovarial immunity. Birds are vaccinated twice, at the age of 50 to 60 days after they test negative for antibodies to Salmonella and at the age of 90 to 110 days, but not later than 3–4 weeks before the egg-laying period. The vaccine is administered subcutaneously into the lower third of the neck at the dose of 0,5 cm3 per bird. Before use the vial containing the vaccine should be incubated at room temperature until the temperature of the product reaches +20-22°C. Before and during immunization the vials containing the vaccine are intermittently shaken in order to keep the emulsion uniform.
The vaccine is compatible with antibiotics, sulfanilamides, vitamins and pro-biotic preparations if the latter are administered orally. In high-risk geographical zones, birds must receive antibiotics in addition to the vaccine to ensure protection while immunity develops. Antibiotics must be administered at the doses determined on the basis of the known sensitivity parameters, in accordance with approved treatment schemes.

Storage requirements
The shelf life of the vaccine is 18 months from the date of manufacture, if stored and transported in a dark dry place in original or transport packaging at a temperature between +4 and +8°С.
