“AVIVAC-PASTOVAC” (suspension)

About the product

«AVIVAC-PASTOVAC» is an inactivated vaccine against pasteurellosis in poultry available as an injectable suspension.

The vaccine is prepared from adhesion antigens of a virulent P. multocida strain mixed with aluminium hydroxide adjuvant. The vaccine has the appearance of a light-grey suspension with white sediment forming at the bottom of the vial upon storage that easily dissolves upon shaking. The vaccine is available in hermetically sealed vials containing 20 to 500 cm3 of the product corresponding to 20 to 500 doses.

Biological properties

Immunity to pasteurellosis develops 14 to 28 days after immunization and lasts at least 6 months. The vaccine is innocuous and non-reactogenic; it possesses no therapeutic properties.

Indications for use
The vaccine is administered intramuscularly into the area between the radius and ulna.

Dosage for intramuscular administration:

Species

Age (days)

Dose (cm3)

Young chickens of egg-laying and heavy breeds 30-60 0,5

61 and older

1,0
Turkeys, ducks, geese 30-60 1,0
  61 and older 2,0

Before use the vial containing the vaccine should be incubated at a temperature between +20 and 22°C for 3 to 4 hours. Before and during immunization the vials containing the vaccine are intermittently shaken in order to keep the suspension uniform.

The vaccine is compatible with antibiotics, sulfanilamides, vitamins and pro-biotic preparations if the latter administered orally. In high-risk geographical zones, birds must receive antibiotics in addition to the vaccine to ensure protection while immunity develops. Antibiotics must be administered at the doses determined on the basis of the known sensitivity parameters, in accordance with approved treatment schemes.

Storage requirements

The shelf life of the vaccine is 18 months from the date of manufacture, if stored and transported in a dark dry place in original or transport packaging at a temperature between +4 and +8°С.
